Today, it has become a rave to listen to motivational speakers or people who have become successful in their fields speak about how they made it. However, it is rare to find people giving actual cautions on things not to do. In this article, I will like to give you a few tips on five things you should never do and also urge you to add to the list in our comment section:

  1. NEVER SPEND YOUR CAPITAL:

To be successful in business, one of the first key things to know and to note is self-discipline. The importance of self-discipline cannot be underestimated as it is what brings stability and structure to the business. Apart from it bringing structure and stability, it also brings consistency to your business. Capital is the money that was invested in starting a business. Your capital is meant to be built on not spent, but most of us tend to forget this fact once we start making profits.

  1. NEVER BE SCARED TO CHANGE PLANS:

Don’t get me wrong – it is great to have a plan. As a matter of fact, it is essential. But, if you’re so caught up in that plan and following it step by step, you might just miss out on an opportunity to change something, even just a little thing, that could make your business all the more successful. Always keep an open mind and never stop thinking about ways to improve and do more.

  1. NEVER BLAME SOMEONE ELSE FOR YOUR MISTAKES:

In life there will be times we screw up, make mistakes and have regrets. But maturity and growth dictate that we man up and take responsibility for our own mistakes although it is usually tempting to put the blame on someone else. Admitting we are wrong and taking responsibility is the first step to growth and ability to do better next time.

  1. NEVER TRY TO DO IT ALL:

The world is a better place with us in charge but that does not mean we should try to be at the center of everything. Division of labor will not only save you time, but it will also help you empower other people. What we should be is smart and hard-working not superheroes.

  1. NEVER BE PREDICTABLE:

People who have known us for a while can to a point say they can predict us. While this can be good, it has its bad side too. To stay one step ahead in life, learn to be unpredictable. Let people anticipate your next move

Remember, be disciplined, life changes rapidly, so make sure you plan ahead, learn to be responsible for your actions, seek help when needed and don’t allow your plans to be a side attraction for the world.
